The first-ever airplay of our new album! We were part of a four-band show that airs three times every Wednesday at 9 AM, 3 PM and 9 PM.

Following a long tradition of bands naming albums after the band, The Maxes' "The Maxes" was released April 12, coinciding with a sold-out appearance at Mo Pitkin's House Of Satisfaction in the East Village. Upcoming shows and radio appearances will be announced soon; you'll be able to see and hear the band with new personnel, purchase the new disc, get your THE MAXES t-shirts or bumper sticker or toilet plunger, and dig some ultra-groovy new songs.

In conjunction with my appearance at the NY Auto show, time/day TBA, I'll be live on "The Fellas" on Sirius Satellite Radio, channel 126, talkin' about cars. Call and toot yer horn, ok?

After a suggestion from Howard 100 News reporter Lisa G., Sal wrote and produced a song on Artie’s pancake eating habit called "Artie Loves Pancakes" sung to the tune of the Bonnie Tyler hit "It’s a Heartache."

To tackle the vocals, he enlisted Julie James, a classically trained singer who works at SIRIUS. She’s proud to be a part of the song parody and thanks Artie for his inspiration. "Because of Artie, I’ll have a singing career. As long as he keeps eating, I’ll keep singing."

Today, The Stern show on Sirius Satellite Radio played all the recent parody jingles that, for one reason or another, hadn't made it into a show. One particular jingle was sung by a very young-sounding female singer channeling Aunt Bea from "The Andy Griffith Show". Only this Aunt Bea seemed to have come from "Desperate Housewives" rather than Mayberry, as she started talking about getting busy with some of the local boys.

T'was our Julie, who continues to enjoy her frequent appearances on the King Of All Media's shows.

Julie James, our Diva With a Fever, sang "Vending Machine" to the tune of "Dancing Queen" 6 times on the Howard Stern show over the past two weeks. Shortly afterward, the powers that be decided Julie herself needed a plug, too. Thus, a 5 minute interview was recorded and broadcast at noon and at 6 PM. Thanks, Penny Crone, and thanks to the folks at the Stern show for plugging The Maxes' website, which resulted in 8000 kabillion hits.

Tune in to Julie's "Outlaw Country" show every Sunday from 10Am-2, to hear the best of Hank, Merle, Waylon, Willie and other bushwacking, con-sarnin' ornery polecats!
